How Much Space Does a 360 Photo Booth Need? (Dubai Venue Guide)

The short answer

A 360 video booth needs a 3m x 3m clear area and a normal 13A power socket within about 10 metres. Give it 4m x 4m if you can — guests queue, pose and film each other, and that extra metre is what stops the booth jamming up the room.

What the numbers actually mean

WhatNeeds
Floor area3m x 3m minimum, 4m x 4m comfortable
Ceiling height2.5m or more
PowerOne standard socket, within ~10m
FloorFlat and level — the arm spins, so a slope is a problem
Setup time45-60 minutes before your start time

The platform itself is around 1m across. The rest of the space is the camera arm sweeping around it, plus room for people to step on and off without walking into it.

Ceiling height is the one people forget

Guests stand on a platform roughly 25cm high. Add a tall guest, add a hand in the air, and you are close to 2.4m. Most Dubai ballrooms are fine. Where we run into trouble is marquees, villa majlis rooms and anywhere with low beams or a chandelier over the spot the planner picked.

Send us a photo of the space if you are unsure. It takes a minute and it has saved several events.

What if the space is tight?

You have three options, in order of how well they work:

  1. Move the booth, not the guests. Beside the dance floor beats a corner every time, and there is usually more room than the floor plan suggests.
  2. Switch to the Mirror Photo Booth. Smaller footprint, still full-length photos, and it prints. This is the honest answer for a lot of villa weddings.
  3. Switch to the GIF Booth. It needs the least room of anything we run.

We would rather tell you a 360 booth does not fit than turn up and discover it on the night.

Outdoors in Dubai

It works, with conditions: a flat, sheltered surface, shade over the booth, and not in high wind. From about November to March this is easy. In peak summer, plan for indoors or a properly cooled tent — the equipment and your guests will both thank you.

Do you need to tell the venue?

Yes, and it helps to do it early. Most Dubai venues want to know the footprint, the power draw and the setup window. We can send those details straight to your venue coordinator — just ask.

Ready to check your space?

Send us your venue and date and we will tell you honestly whether the 360 booth fits, or which booth would work better. See the 360 Video Booth page for what is included, or the pricing page for current rates.
